Some apps send voice notes but don’t offer live calls, or we couldn’t confirm them:

- Included in a subscription. Nomi, Kindroid and Replika put regular calling behind their paid plans. You pay a flat price and call as much as the plan allows. This is the most predictable option if you call often.
- Tokens or credits. Candy AI, DreamBF and EVA AI charge tokens or credits for voice. A cheap subscription can turn into a much bigger bill if you have long calls every night, so check how many tokens a minute uses before you get attached.
- Free. At the time of writing, Character AI offers voice calls without a subscription, which is unusual. Talkie gives free users short calls of about two minutes, and Nomi and Kindroid include small free voice allowances. Good for a test, not for a nightly habit.
